Mother's Day Basket of Roses

Hello Dear Subscribers,

Mother's Day is not far away, and this basket of flowers would be a wonderful way to show how much you care.

This floral design shows off the full beauty of the roses and has a nostalgic look of times gone by.

A tall white wicker basket has been used as a base.

The roses have been arranged with sprays of delicate nandina foliage and spiral gum.

Sheer organza ribbon has been wound around the basket handle with a full lush bow placed against the start of the handle.

Method

The base of the basket is filled with crumpled paper.

A block of soaked florist foam is placed in a flat plastic container and secured in position on top of the paper.

The roses are inserted in the foam in widening circles, so they all appear to extend from the centre of the design.

Pieces of nandina and spiral gum are placed between the flowers in the centre and around the edges of the arrangement to give a light look.

The ribbon is been wound loosely around the handle and a full bow is positioned on one side of the handle.

This floral design is briefly explained. In our Floristry Diploma Course, we explain each lesson in detail. There are step by step diagrams for each step, measurements on how long to cut each stem, exactly where to position each one and a colour photo of each completed design.
