Modern Floral Design Lemon SlicesModern Floral Design With Lemon Slices

You can arrange flowers in different ways to create something really unique to give it the wow factor.

Slices of lemon are placed around the inside of a low glass container with a piece of soaked foam placed in the centre of the container.

This arrangement features yellow and orange shaded calla lilies, bright pink and yellow roses, pale blue hydrangea and pink spiky filling flowers with long leaves that have been curved.

The lilies are crisscrossed at the top.

Tall pieces of contorted willow give additional height.

Method

A lemon has been cut into thin slices and placed around the edges of the container. The natural juice of the fruit should help it stick to the sides of the container.

A  piece of foam has been soaked in water for several minutes, and a long leaf has been placed around the sides of the foam and secured in position with a couple of florist or dressmaking pins.

The foam has been placed in the container, having it sit slightly higher than the top of the container to allow some of the stems to be inserted into the sides of the foam.

The florist foam will hold the lemon slices in position in between the sides of the foam and the container.

Another method is to use two clear containers the same shape having one slightly smaller than the other. The lemon slices can sit between the two.

The roses stems have been cut to the desired length and inserted into the top of the foam.

The hydrangea stems have been cut to the desired length and inserted into the sides of the foam.

The lily stems have cut to the desired length and then inserted into the top of the foam having them crisscross for an interesting look.

The spiky filling flowers have been cut to the desired length and inserted into the foam.

The leaves have been shaped by running the fingers along the centre into a curved shape and inserted into the arrangement.

Several stems of contorted willow have been inserted into the top of the foam.

This floral design is briefly explained.

In the Floristry Diploma Course, each lesson is explained in detail.

Each lesson has step-by-step instructions with lots of diagrams, measurements on how long to cut each flower and foliage stem, exactly where to position each one and a colour photo for each completed design.
