Modern Floral Centerpiece

Hello Dear Subscribers,

You may want to create a centerpiece that has the wow factor but is quick and easy to arrange.

This modern style centerpiece would be ideal for a wedding reception or other special occasion.

This is a simple, but effective, design arranged in a flat container with a minimal amount of materials used.

A long aspidistra leaf is placed at each end to give the length.

Red roses are clustered in the centre to form the focal area.

A long orthithogalum is positioned at each end to rest against the leaves.

Waxflowers and a orthithogalum head are cut short and placed in clusters around the roses.

Trails of ivy are used to give softness to the design.

Pieces of spear grass are inserted around the edges to give extra interest.

Lastly, matching rose petals are scattered on the table to give extra pizazz.

1. Soak florist foam in water and secure in position in the container.

2. Insert an aspidistra leaf in each end of the foam.

3. Use roses that are half to three quarters open to fill in well and give fullness in the centre of the arrangement. Cut the rose stems to measure about 10 cm (4") long and insert in the centre of the foam.

4. Cut clusters of wax flower and one orthithogalum to measure about 10cm long and insert around the roses.

5. Cut pieces of ivy into various lengths following the line of the arrangement and insert around the edges the foam.

6. Cut pieces of spear grass to the desired length and insert around the edges.

7. Spray the arrangement lightly with water.

8. Scatter rose petals around the arrangement.
