Magnolia Flower Arrangement

Hello Dear Subscribers,

I do hope you have had a lovely Christmas with your family and friends and all the very best for a wonderful 2006.

This is the beginning of a new year, so I hope you have made some great new year resolutions.

When you read this newsletter, I will be in the U.S.A visiting friends in California.

In this newsletter, I am going to show you how to arrange long stems of magnolias in a tall glass container.

This is a simple arrangement to create.

Glass marbles have been placed in the bottom of the container to help hold the stems in place.

Water was then poured into the container.

I held the stems of magnolias in my left hand and staggered the stems so the heads were on slightly different levels.

I then added several pieces of contorted willow to give lightness around the edges.

I then secured all the stems together with a piece of string winding it around several times in the same place, and cut the stems level and then placed them in the container.

I gathered along the edge of a length of pale green mesh fabric with a long 22 gauge wire, tucked the mesh into the top of the container, twisted the wire ends together and fanned the mesh out to give a soft full look.
