Spray Posy Of Flowers With Pearls

Hello Dear Subscribers,

Presentation plays a big part in floristry and floral design.

Just adding a few extra finishing touches can make a design special.

Flowers and foliage have been arranged in a spray.

The flowers used are peach roses, purple irises, lime green chrysanthemums, misty, foliage, palm leaf and spear grass.

Large pearls have been glued to long florist wires and inserted throughout the spray.

Pearls have been inserted along the spear grass.

The spray has then been wrapped with mauve florist wrap.

Method

Strip off any foliage or thorns from the bottom third of the stems.

Place the foliage on a table in a flat spray, criscrossing the stems with the widest part across the base.

Add extra pieces of foliage along the centre to build it up.

Starting at the top and working downwards, position the roses.

Place the irises down the centre front of the spray.

Slide the chrysanthemums down between the flowers.

Slide the misty between the flowers.

Insert the wired pearls between the flowers.

Place a palm leaf at the back.

Slide a pearl up a few of the spear grass stems and secure in place with a dab of glue and position them in the spray.

Secure all the stems together with string or twine.

Cut the end of the stems on a slant.

Spray the flowers lightly with water.

Place the sheer florist wrap around the back and tie it in place with a piece of ribbon, tying the ends in a small bow with long ends.

Cut the ribbon ends on a slant.

This floral design is briefly explained. In our Floristry Diploma Course, we explain each lesson in detail. There are step by step diagrams for each step, measurements on how long to cut each stem, exactly where to position each one and a colour photo of each completed design.
