Contemporary Floral Arrangement

Hello Dear Subscribers,

This contemporary floral design features two cream gerberas, green leucadendrons, two cream roses and pussy willow.

The foliage used is cypress, laurel leaves and leather fern.

A block of soaked florist foam is placed in a flat container and secured in position with pot tape.

The tall pieces of pussy willow have been positioned to give height to the design.

The two gerberas have been placed low down to form the focal area where the eye is immediately attracted.

The laurel leaves are layered on top of each other.  Cypress is placed to fan out each side.

Pieces of leather fern are inserted at the end of the design.

Leucadendrons are positioned at one end and two roses are placed either side of the pussy willow to follow the tall shape.

Two bulbs are placed to the left of the gerberas, and moss is used to cover the foam.

The placement of these materials gives visual interest, as the eye goes from one grouping to another.

This floral design is briefly explained. In our Floristry Diploma Course, we explain each lesson in detail. There are step by step diagrams for each step, measurements on how long to cut each stem, exactly where to position each one and a colour photo of each completed design.
