Funky Flowers

Hello Dear Subscribers,

It's great to create a trendy flower arrangement that is different. This Funky flower arrangement is a fun way to present flowers with a modern upbeat look.

This floral design would be great for a party as a centerpiece.

A wine glass is lined with thin lime slices and it is filled with red roses.

As these roses are small, quite a large quantity have been used - a similar effect can be achieved by using less roses or carnations but in a larger size.

You could add a drinking straw on an angle in between the roses to give the appearance of a ice cream sundae.

The materials used in this design are

Roses
Fruit (lime or lemon)
Glass container
Floral foam
Pot tape

Method
1. Cut the lime into thin slices. Starting at the bottom and working up to the top, place the slices around the inside of the glass.
2. Soak the floral foam in water for several minutes and cut to fit the centre of the glass, having it sit slightly higher than the top of the glass. Place 2 pieces of pot tape to crisscross over the top of the container and down on the sides of the top of the glass for 2.5cm (1").
3. Cut the roses to the desired length. Starting at the bottom insert them around the top edge of the glass, having the base of the roses extending out for about 5cm (2") past the edges of the glass. Continue inserting the roses until you get to the top, having it slightly rounded in the centre as shown in the photo.
4. Spray lightly with water.

The arrangement at the back shows orchids with Boston fern and twiggy stems in a tall glass container, and the low centerpiece at the front features orchids, roses and artichokes.

It's always interesting and fun when you can create artistic floral designs.
