Teddy Bear With Flowers

Hello Dear Subscribers,

You may be looking for a way to combine a soft toy and flowers.

This teddy bear is carrying a basket of silk flowers and foliage and would make a cute and inexpensive gift.

I am sure a little girl would appreciate this teddy bear and would give it a good home!!

To create this design, place a length of fluffy marabou around the bears shoulders and under the arms

Add a string of pearls, wound twice around the neck, for a touch of glamour.

Use a small basket and secure a piece of foam in the base of the basket with a hot glue gun or wire it in position.

Cut silk foliage to the desired length and insert it around the edges of the foam to form an oval shape.

Cut the stem of a large rose to the desired length and insert it in the centre of the foam.

Fill in around the rose with pieces of foliage and clusters of filler flowers, wiring them if necessary.

Make a ribbon bow with two tails. An easy way to make a bow is to hold the ribbon about 15cm (6") from one end and form the ribbon into 2 figure eights, one behind the other with another 15cm (6") length tail at the opposite end. Wire across the centre with a 22 gauge wire. Spread out the loops, cut the ends of the tails on a slant and insert the bow in the front of the basket.

Attach the basket around the teddy bears arm with a narrow piece of matching ribbon.

This floral design is briefly explained. In our Floristry Diploma Course, we explain each lesson in detail. There are step by step diagrams for each step, measurements on how long to cut each stem, exactly where to position each one and a colour photo of each completed design.
