Saint Valentine’s Day

February the 14th is Saint Valentine’s Day.

It is celebrated around the world and is a lovely way to express your feelings to your loved one.

Red roses are traditionally associated with Saint Valentine’s Day and are shown here arranged in a heart shape.

Saint Valentines Day is usually the busiest day of the year for the florist.  As red flowers are in high demand on St Valentines Day there will often be a shortage and pink flowers can be a good substitute.

For this design a heart shaped foam base has been soaked lightly in water.

The rose stems have been cut short (about 7cm long) and inserted around the edges keeping the heart shape and then working inwards following just inside the previous round with the centre roses placed last.

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.” – Helen Keller

I hope you have a wonderful Saint Valentine’s Day.
