Floristry Course – welcome to the wonderful world of floristry!

If you love flowers and want to learn to be a florist and create stunning floral designs, then you’ve come to the right place.  We have students who are interested in a career in floristry including how to start up a floristry business from home and others who want to learn how to create beautiful floral designs for their own home, family or friends.

Flowers have been used for centuries to express love, sympathy, thank you, get well or to simply say you care.

There are many different types of flowers in the world, each with their own unique beauty. Some popular flower types include roses, carnations, dahlias, tulips, irises, lilies and orchids.

In the floristry course you will learn the names of flowers and foliage that are commonly used in floristry and how to treat them so they will have the longest possible life.

You will learn the about proportion, balance, colour, texture and how to choose a design suitable for the occasion.

Each term is full of interesting information about the floristry industry.

The Floristry Course Consists of

  •  A large hardbound floristry manual for each term. There are over 260 pages in the first term floristry manual and 30 practical lessons and additional freestyle designs.
  •  There is a step by step video showing you how to make up each practical lesson that you will have lifetime access to and you can refer to during and after the course.
  •  The floristry supplies such as bowls, baskets, bases, ribbon, wire and tape are included in the course.

You Will Learn To Create Many Different Styles Of Floral Designs

The practical lessons in the floristry course include table centrepieces, basket arrangements, posies, modern floral designs, traditional flower arrangements, European designs, gift box arrangements, hand tied bouquets, tributes, corsages, bridal bouquets and wedding designs. You will also receive instructions on how to create additional floral designs.

The school was established in 1972 and we have over 50 years experience in successfully training people in floristry. Fay Chamoun A.A.I.H. A.I.M is the Principal of Floral Art School of Australia and International Floral Design School. The school is a member of the International Approval and Registration Centre (IARC) Fay is an associate member of The Institute of Managers and Leaders.
