Can you imagine yourself surrounded with beautiful flowers?
Floristry is a feel good industry where you bring happiness to others.
The flowers chosen for this posy are soft pink ranunculus, green viburnum, deep pink tulips, pink hyacinths and eucalyptus gum.
It is best not to have all smooth stemmed flowers and foliage as they can tend to slip.
By adding some rougher stems it helps hold the stems in place whilst you are making it.
The foliage has been removed from the bottom third of the stems that would stand under the water line.
Foliage left under the water line will pullute the water and the flowers will not last nearly so long.
It is made so it is rounded across the top – the centre flower is held in one hand and the other flowers have been added around in circles criss-crossing the stems at the same place with the flowers in each round out further.
The stems have been tied together with twine, the ends of the stems cut level and the completed posy placed in a container or water.
This design has been briefly explained. In the Floristry Course there is a step by step floristry manual and an online video for each practical lesson showing you how long to cut the stems and where to position them.
If you have not already enrolled in the Floristry Course we would love to have you join us.
We only have one life – do what you are passionate about and become involved in the wonderful world of floristry and enrich your life and those around you.
I will look forward to welcoming you as a student to our school.
Until next time – have a great week.
