Pink Flower Arrangement

Hello Dear Subscribers,

I hope everything is going very well for you.

Flowers always give a lift and tests have shown most women like pink - it is such a feminine colour.

Flowers come in so many shades of pink from the palest pink through to deep burgundy.

This floral design features an ornamental pineapple, pink liliums, pink gerberas and anthuriums, burgundy cockscomb, leather fern, tropical leaf and camellia leaves.

This arrangement is made in a plastic bowl which is placed in a box with pink cellophane placed around the edges.

The finishing touch is two pink jewelled butterflies and pink curly pieces of wire to give it extra pizzazz.

The materials used in this arrangement are:

One ornamental pineapple
Pink liliums buds
Pink anthurium
Pink gerbera
Burgundy cockscomb
Leather fern
Tropical leaf
Foliage of choice such as camellia leaves
Plastic number 6 florist bowl
Florist foam
Medium size florist box
2 sheets of opaque (non see though) pink cellophane paper
2 jewelled butterflies and decorative wire.

Method
1. Soak the floral foam in water, place it in the plastic bowl and secure it in place with the clip on guard.
2. Half fill the box with crumpled newspaper, place two pieces of cellophane crisscross in the cardboard box and fan it out so it sits attractively.
3. Place the plastic bowl in the centre of the paper. The top of the foam should sit at least 2.5cm (1") higher than the top edges of the box.
4. Cut the long tropical leaf to the desired length and insert it in the right side of the foam.
5. Cut the other pieces of foliage to the desired length and insert them in the opposite end of the foam.
6. Insert pieces of leather fern and the other pieces of foliage evenly around the edges, having the stems curving slightly downwards.
7. Place the pineapple on the top of the foam.
8. Cut the stems of the remaining flowers to the desired length and insert them as shown in the photo.
9. Fill in the centre of the arrangement with short pieces of foliage.
10. Clip the 2 butterflies on the leaves. Wind the decorative wire around a thick pencil and remove it to insert it in the design.
11. Spray lightly with water.
